Job Description

The Payroll Systems and Reporting Manager will lead the development, maintenance, and optimisation of Resource Link payroll systems and reporting infrastructure. This role ensures the accurate and timely delivery of payroll data, supports strategic decision-making through robust reporting, and drives continuous improvement across payroll technology and analytics. The postholder will act as the technical lead for payroll systems and collaborate closely with HR, Finance, IT, and external vendors.

You will be responsible for:

  • Serve as the technical owner for our payroll platform including ResourceLink and RRS.
  • Lead system upgrades, configuration changes, and integrations with other HR and finance systems.
  • Act as the escalation point for system-related incidents and ensure timely resolution in collaboration with IT and vendors.
  • Assess, schedule and co-ordinate the testing, implementation and communication of new releases of software and change requests in line with agreed timelines, processes and standards.
  • Develop and maintain a suite of payroll reports and dashboards to support internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Reward & Payroll, Head of People Operations, and IT Applications Product Owners to align system capabilities with organisational needs.
  • Ensure payroll systems and reporting processes comply with statutory regulations.

Key Criteria:

  • Established experience managing full end to end payroll processes and reporting tools in a large, complex organization.
  • Strong technical systems knowledge of ResourceLink.
  • Good knowledge of AFC & Medics pay scales and how they work.
  • Demonstrable experience in payroll data analysis, reporting, and compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate clearly, cogently and appropriately for a range of audiences.
  • Willingness to learn new HRIS systems and technologies.

Salary: Up to £50,000 part time per annuum (depending on experience).

Contract: Permanent, part time 4 days/28 hours per week.

Based: This a home-based role and can be based anywhere within the UK.
