About the roleWe have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Analyst to join our busy Payroll team here at the John Lewis Partnership, supporting business critical activities to ensure the accurate and timely administration of payroll activities for all of our Partners and ex-Partners.

Expected salary - £33,800 - £40,000 (dependent on experience)

Contract type - This position is a permanent contract.

Working pattern/flexible working - The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The Payroll team spend the majority of their time working from home, there will be a requirement to attend the office on a monthly basis for a team meeting.

Location - This role is based at our Bracknell Head Office.

Key responsibilities

Operational delivery of an accurate and timely Payroll for all Partners and ex-Partners.

Collaborative working within the analyst team ensuring all elements of the daily, weekly, monthly and annual pay cycles are completed. Ensuring the successful and technical execution of monthly payrolls.

Providing sound payroll expertise that demonstrates well informed, efficient, legally compliant and value-adds to Partners and stakeholders across the business. Maintaining relevant professional qualifications and expert knowledge in all areas relating to Pay.

Delivering an outstanding service, focusing on quality, ensuring all metrics are met and maintained. Resolving complex issues sharing analysis insight to enable a well formed decision.

Driving continuous improvement and efficiencies to ensure that the work and advice provided is accurate and consistent.
Essential skills/experience you’ll need
● In depth knowledge of UK payroll, including legislative, regulatory compliance including policies
● Experience of using HR & Payroll systems
● Microsoft Office, Google Drive or equivalent experience
● Experience of using a Contact Management system
● Experience of handling confidential, sensitive or personal information
Desirable skills/experience you may have
● CIPP or equivalent Payroll qualification
● Retail experience
● Experience in stakeholder management and service delivery
● Experience of using Oracle Financials
● Experience of using Workday HR & Payroll systems
● Relevant accounting to support with performance of balance sheet reconciliations
