Our client is a UK subsidiary of a global financial house working in multiple markets and asset classes.

The role will report into the Programme Lead for Markets and Securities Operations Operations within the Change function in Operations.

The Change Team within Operations manages projects from the initiation stage through to implementation and this role will specifically cover the ISO20022 migration activities for the bank impacting Transaction Processing, Middle Office, Payments, Reconciliations, Clearing & Settlements

We are are looking for a strong Project Manager with knowledge of Banking Operations, Payments with strong Middle/ Back Office experience and the ability to lead a project with multiple streams covering changes in core banking systems in parallel. This is high stakes project delivery given the Industry deadline and the impact to the core banking systems.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for change management across the bank's Securities business covering the following:

Manage the full project lifecycle adhering to standard governance and best practice from project initiation to closure.

Where applicable deliver complex change projects from design through to build, deployment and handover to BAU.

Work with subject matter experts and the project team to identify, define, collate, document and communicate the data input and future migration requirements.

Work closely with relevant business and key stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient implementation.

Create and maintain project plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.

Prepare data input and migration plans including migration risk, milestones, quality and business sign-off details.

Understand project budgeting; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances, project plan baseline and change control and initiates corrective actions.

Maintain project status reports to stakeholders; coordinate and provide updates to steering committees; anticipate and react to change.

Identify & manage inter-dependencies with other projects as and when required.

Work closely with technology incl. Infrastructure and business product owners in order to design and deliver fit for purpose solutions.

Produce management information surrounding project health and delivery of progress.

Plan, manage and escalate risks/issues in a timely fashion to determine priorities and feed end strategy, monitor potential impacts as part of the data migration plan.

Responsible for identifying resource demand and assigning responsibilities to ensure targets dates are achieved.

Manage all day-to-day operational aspects of the project deliverables.

Work closely with the central PMO to ensure project governance and project delivery processes are aligned and there is a complete audit trail.

Skills

Must have

MUST HAVE:

Solid, proven experience in Payments and Settlement Processing, Investment Banking Middle/ Back Office Operations

Experience and knowledge of ISO20022, payments messaging and the planned industry changes to payment platforms

Strong project management experience and disciplinesFunctional / Technical Competencies:

Proactive delivery of multi-functional projects preferably across Banking Operations, the Payments space, Middle/Back Office.

10+ years Experience in project management delivery in Operations environment ideally in Payments

Strong knowledge of Payments messaging, ISO20022

Good knowledge of investment banking products, finance/ operational functions and trade flows.

Relevant Experience proven track record delivering projects to financial institutions within time and budget.

Strong staff management and team organization.

Experience of demand and supply management.

Strong project delivery and deadline management.

Strong communication and leadership.

Experience in multiple delivery methodologies (waterfall & agile).

Clear understanding of change management in the corporate environment.

Strong governance approach to delivery, experience of leading Steering Committees with senior stakeholders in attendance.

Experience of project management toolsets.

Proficient in Microsoft Professional Suite Inc. Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Demonstrable track record of managing multiple stakeholders and building relationships across diverse skill sets and across the international organisation.

Proven experience of managing budgets.

Experience with identifying project outputs and tracking delivery of business benefits.Work Experience:

Knowledge of Front-to-Back Office transaction lifecycle management and associated risks.

10+ years Experience of successfully leading full lifecycle complex projects across the Operations space.

Demonstrable experience in multiple work stream delivery.

Financial industry experience.

Good working knowledge of the regulatory environment including regulatory reporting.

Desirable to have an understanding of different financial products including fixed income, derivatives, money markets and corporate lending.Education / Qualifications:

Prince2 or APMP project management methodology and certification beneficial.

understanding/ experience of the following payment platforms/ Schemes: SWIFT, MUREX, Smart Stream (Cash Management System and Intraday Liquidity), Gloss

Experience in Banking/ FI in relation to payments standardisation, reconciliations, payments regulation, fraud, anti-money laundering, financial crime systems

Good understanding of the following operational areas: regulatory reporting, derivatives trade support, money market processing, bonds, collateral management, confirmations, credit control, fixed income trade support, loan participation, loan agency and settlements
