Job Summary
In support of the rapidly evolving payments landscape, the Payments Controls organization is seeking an Executive Director level candidate to join the Global Regulatory Developments and Engagement function and be responsible for managing the Regulations Control pillar, which includes performing and overseeing legal obligations related activities for Payments. The team, in conjunction with Business and Control Managers, proactively manages regulatory changes and links laws, rules, and regulations with processes and procedures to demonstrate compliance.
As a leader of the Regulations Control function, you will be responsible for managing a global team and driving efficiency of regulatory obligations and regulatory event notices end to end workflow. Demonstrating thought leadership, as well as delivery of best practice, you will leverage your in depth understanding of the regulatory landscape to provide insightful reporting and work in partnership with the rest of the function to enhance process inefficiencies. Job Responsibilities
- Lead the Regulations Control function and oversee the day to day activities for the global team, which includes mapping of obligations to processes and procedures
- Approve impact assessments for new or amended regulations whilst ensuring that the assessments considers the full suite of Payments products
- Implement a robust control framework and ensure periodic control reviews and data quality checks are conducted
- Manage stakeholder engagements and represent Regulations Control in relevant forums
- Work effectively with relevant stakeholders to identify and implement process efficiencies
- Produce clear regulatory insights that inform decisions from obligations data
- Provide guidance and training on Payments related regulations
Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities
- Extensive knowledge of regulations impacting payments, ideally coupled with Payments business knowledge
- Knowledge of existing and new emerging payment trends
- Strong managerial and leadership skills, and experience managing, inspiring, and motivating teams spread across multiple jurisdictions
- Strong communication skills - both verbal and written, including the ability to convey complex ideas and concepts in a clear manner with a senior audience.
- Proactive approach to problem solving, owning the issues and having the determination to follow tasks/issues through to resolution.
- Experience working with geographically distributed and culturally diverse workgroups
- Proven ability to achieve quality results in a rapidly changing environment requiring flexibility / adaptability to changeable directives.
Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities
- Extensive experience of financial services, in leadership position in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance preferred
- Ability to deliver an actionable roadmap
- Proficient knowledge of control and risk management concepts with the ability to design, create and evaluate risk and control environment in conjunction with business partners
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
