We have a fantastic opportunity to become the Trusts patient safety
manager. Working as part of a close knit team the postholder will provide
expert support to patient safety whilst supporting the development of a
patient safety culture and safety systems.

As a highly motivated team player you will have a clinical background and
excellent communication and influencing skills. This is a busy role, requiring
excellent organisational skills, the ability to work under pressure and to
meet tight deadlines.

This vacancy has been advertised in accordance with the new NHS pay rate which will take effect from autumn 2024. Main duties of the job

The postholder will play a lead role in patient safety at UCLH ensuring the
provision of efficient and responsive central patient safety functions and by contributing to the development of the Trust approach to patient safety and the patient safety incident response framework (PSIRF).

The postholder will provide expert support and undertake patient safety incident investigations (PSIIs) as needed.

The post holder leads on incident management and will also be (or will
become) a patient safety specialist.

You will be supported to develop and undertake any key training needed.

• Master's degree or equivalent relevant experience
• Evidence of successful study at a higher level within a specialist environment of serious incidents or project management or equivalent specialist knowledge.
• Clinical background / qualification

Experience

Essential criteria

• Significant and demonstrable experience of working in the NHS at a senior level in relevant fields eg serious incident management, PSIRF implementation
• Substantial experience of staff leadership and management across a range of functions.
• Significant experience of working in a large and complex health environment at a senior level and directly influencing at corporate level.
