  • Sunrise - Lowestoft
  • 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year - Permanent
  • Salary: £25,119 per annum - £27,334 per annum (Dependent on qualifications and experience)
  • Actual salary £21,322.97 - £23,203.23 per annum (Dependent on qualifications and experience)
  • Commencing January 2025

We are seeking a dedicated Pastoral & Learning Mentor to join our team. In this vital role, you will help students thrive by providing high-quality academic and pastoral support, securing their physical and emotional wellbeing, and fostering self-esteem and independence.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and deliver pastoral interventions to support students' SEMH needs, working one-on-one or in small groups.
  • Embed essential life skills, such as literacy, numeracy, and social skills, into engaging activities.
  • Use Trauma-Informed Schools (TIS) strategies to support students across the school environment.
  • Assess and report on students' progress and achievements, contributing to Annual Reviews as required.
  • Collaborate with teachers and Family Support Workers to build strong home-school partnerships.
  • Coordinate risk assessments for off-site activities and maintain up-to-date student risk profiles.
  • Undertake first aid and administer medication in line with school guidelines (training provided).

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience supporting young people with SEMH or similar needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • A creative, proactive approach to problem-solving and delivering interventions.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and inclusive education is an advantage.
  • The ability to contribute to a positive, supportive school culture that inspires students to succeed.

SENDAT operates various schools and programme designed to help children and young adults with SEND, offering specialised teaching, outreach services, and alternative provision to meet diverse educational needs.
