Parks Workforce Development Project Manager

This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.

Job description
Full Time, Fixed Term for 2 years.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced project manager to work across the council's Parks Service and progress a five year workforce development plan which will provide managers with the necessary tools to build a workforce that responds to the future needs of the city, and is able to deliver our newly adopted parks and green spaces strategy and is more resilient to change.

You will work with parks managers and the council's Employment, Skills and Learning Team and plan to avoid potential future skills and knowledge gaps and create opportunities to retain these in the workforce.

You will be responsible for improving both team and individual skills and improving the service's diversity profile by looking at recruitment, making links to communities and generating work experience opportunities that may lead to employment.

As the project lead you will develop new and existing roles that meet the service need, identify and arrange workforce training and skills development, update job documentation as necessary and engage regularly with staff throughout.

You will have experience of working on a service transformation programme and of leading on complex projects. You will have experience of working and communicating effectively and appropriately with individuals at all levels and abilities and both internal and external stakeholders and service providers to allow the project to meet its objectives.

You will bring your proven leadership, people management and organisational skills into the role and be willing and able to travel around various locations in Bristol to work with managers and teams across the Parks Service.
