The Traffic Management Department is a highly professional multi-disciplined department that brings together all aspects of highways and transportation in an integrated manner, playing a major part in ensuring that Bridgend is a safer and more attractive place to live and work. As part of this remit the Parking Services unit has a vacancy for an individual to manage the Civil Parking Enforcement and car park team.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to manage On and Off street Parking for Bridgend County Borough Council, with enforcement of appropriate traffic management schemes including Civil Parking Enforcement, Residential Parking schemes creating an environment which delivers a first class service to the residents whilst being fair to all highway users.

To assist the Traffic Management and Parking Team Leader in the efficient operation of the Council's Civil Parking Enforcement operation and (through a third party) the Penalty Charge Notice processing, including management and monitoring of income/expenditure budgets.

To ensure the efficient operation of the Council's On and Off-Street car parking regime including development and implementing the authorities Parking Strategies and Business Plans, including Residential parking

Manage Civil Parking Enforcement and parking staff to achieve the service objectives with a high standard of performance, through leadership, selection, motivation, training, appraisal, counselling and ensure that Health and Safety matters are considered at all times.

Responsible for preparation of management reports providing financial performance data on relevant operations, consultation documentation, plans, signage followed by informal and formal engagement on the proposals

Investigate and reply to related correspondence and representations from the public and ensure timely responses are provided

Possession of a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential, the successful applicant will be expected to attend locations within the County Borough and represent the Authority at external meetings.

The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post
