Panel Workshop Production Manager

This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.

Job Description
Production Manager - High Wycombe

Join a growing and busy control panel shop, bringing your experience running a panel production environment and help them grow further.
Why this could beat your current role

You'll take genuine ownership of day-to-day production for Power and BMS/PLC control panels, reporting directly to the MD, with your decisions visible and valued. You'll set the pace, shape workflow with design, procurement, assembly, testing and QC, and have the headroom to manage efficient delivery, rather than firefighting.
What you'll be doing (and why it's interesting)

  • Lead the panel shop's daily activities across assembly, wiring and testing so that builds leave on time and to standard. You'll jump on the tools to unblock things during peaks.
  • Plan and manage work on daily and monthly horizons, balancing multiple projects and delivery deadlines without burning people out.
  • Keep the workshop humming: Planning, materials, space usage, cleanliness, test areas, records, photos and certs and all work maintaining quality standards.
  • Make stock control boring in the best way, so parts are there when needed. Liaise tightly with the wider team to ensure production meets dates.

What you'll bring

  • Proven leadership in a control panel build environment.
  • Strong production planning and prioritisation across multiple live jobs.
  • Practical, hands-on approach with high standards of quality and safety.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and safe workshop practices.

Nice to have: experience with QC/inspection/testing of control panels.
Practicalities

High Wycombe site, on-site role; suitable for someone in an easy commute. Competitive package; full details discussed at first chat.
One honest challenge

This is a growing business adding a new layer of management. You'll inherit parallel builds, tight ship dates and some process tidy-up as you bed in systems and cadence - the upside is the scope to set the standard and see your improvements land quickly.
What's next

Apply today. If your CV isn't up to date, that's fine - send a quick note or LinkedIn profile and we'll arrange a confidential chat first; a CV later is fine.

You must have a Right To Work in the UK - No sponsorship is available
Please note that, unfortunately, any applicants without the relevant work experience or the Right To Work in the UK will be unsuccessful.
