This post has been created to offer a structured experience to join an innovative, active and progressive South West London Community children's service to improve the outcome of our children and young people with chronic and complex health issues and developmental disorders.

Outline of the programme: 6 months in Community Paediatrics

Main duties of the job

Neuro-disability and developmental paediatrics

• Developmental assessment of children referred with developmental concerns
• Responsibility for a caseload of children referred to the specialist child health services for assessment and review and management of children with neurodisability and other chronic health needs.
• Participation in assessment and management of children referred to the specialist clinics e.g. Down's, Enuresis, Social communication, Neonatal follow up (NIMS) and EHCP Medical clinics depending on the needs of services.

Liaison between the team and other agencies on clinical and operational matters relevant to the work of the service.

• GMC registration
• MBBS (or equivalent)
• MRCPCH part 1&2
• APLS and NLS

Desirable criteria

• BSc

• Minimum of one year middle grade experience

• 6m subspecialty experience
