Education and qualifications

Essential criteria

• Registered Nurse ( child branch)
• Degree / evidence of post graduate learning
• Mentorship or equivalent
• Children Accident and emergency course or equivalent

Desirable criteria

• APLS
• HMIMMS
• EPLS/ HMIMMS provider
• Leadership course
• ATLS

Experience

Essential criteria

• Substantial Paediatric A&E experience with proven experience at Band 6
• Current knowledge of NHS reforms

Desirable criteria

• Specialist knowledge of emergency care

Skills and abilities

Essential criteria

• Excellent communication skills
• Extended A&E skills: triage/ streaming, wound closure, POP, phlebotomy
• Presentation both verbal and written
• Able to facilitate learning
• Evidence of managing a team

Desirable criteria

• Ability to provide clinical supervision and safeguarding supervision
• recruitment and interview skills
• evidence of involvement in audits, service improvements
