Job overview

We are seeking an experienced PA/Administrator to provide Secretarial and Administrative support to our Community Heart Failure team

The successful candidate will have previous experience of administration roles within an NHS Trust setting.

You will be able to prioritise your workload with constantly changing demands, meet agreed deadlines, use your own initiative and respond to queries in a professional manner.

You must have experience in the use of computer systems including Microsoft packages and Cerner Millennium.

Key responsibilities diary management, include booking appointments, covering reception, processing clinical correspondence, supervising junior members of the team and other admin work as required. Cross covering admin team/Data Analyst during sickness and annual leave.

Cross cover of other community sites will also be required.

Main duties of the job

The role of the PA/Senior Administrator for Heart Failure is to provide a comprehensive, efficient, quality PA and administrative service to support the Consultants the Directorate of Cardiovascular Sciences working with the Heart Failure team within both Acute and Community Heart Failure. This is an expanding role and subject to change as the service develops.

EDUCATION

Essential criteria

  • A-Levels or equivalent knowledge or experience

Desirable criteria

  • Original certificates/diplomas

SKILLS/ABILITIES

Essential criteria

  • Word processing MS Office, including Word and Excel
  • Experience of scheduling appointments
  • Good organisational skills

Desirable criteria

  • Previous appointment scheduling experience

EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria

  • Previous PA/Secretarial experience
  • Experience in a Healthcare environment

Desirable criteria

  • Knowledge of the NHS
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
