Description
As the Outreach Service Manager, you will manage a small team working remotely across the length and breadth of Cornwall, who find and engage with people who are rough sleeping, sofa surfing or who have nowhere safe to stay.
Overseeing a remote team of lone-workers, you will need to ensure you have a good understanding of staff whereabouts and the possible risks facing them at all times - taking all necessary action to ensure their health and safety. Whilst managing your own caseload, you will help your team to prioritise their work and assist them with complex cases where appropriate.
The exact hours and locations of your work will vary, based on the needs of the organisation. You must be flexible, and some evening and weekend work will be required. You will also be expected to participate in the on-call manager system (approximately 1 week in 6) to provide advisory support to the on-call staff outside of normal working hours. Whilst this is usually telephone-only, you will occasionally need to attend incidents where in-person support is necessary.

What you'll be doing.
- Oversee and coordinate all operational aspects of the Outreach service, whilst maintaining a small personal caseload.
- Work closely with the Director of Non-Residential Services and other managers to maintain a smooth and effective service delivery across all Non-Residential services. This will include providing support in the event of sickness or other absence.
- Carry out regular casework supervision to review content of needs assessments and ensure individuals experiencing homelessness are referred to appropriate services.
- Oversee and monitor the investigation of complex cases and direct and assist the Outreach Workers and Mental Health Support Coordinator where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records of all client contact information and actions on InForm.
- Manage the timely collection of accurate statistical data from the Outreach team and participate in the collation and preparation of month-end KPI reports.
- Participate in the coordination and delivery of the St Petrocs Winter Service.
- Build and maintain good working links with partner agencies and the wider community, including local authorities, housing providers, health services, addiction recovery programs, community drop-ins, and other charities.
- Attend multi-agency meetings on behalf of St Petrocs.
- Monitor and coordinate internal referrals to the Outreach team.
- Oversee the team's expense claims and ensure they are being as cost effective in their decisions as possible.
- Be aware of and adhere to all legislative requirements and internal policies and procedures related to data protection, equal opportunities and health and safety - especially with respect to lone-working.
- Provide direction and support to team members, giving continual feedback and helping them to prioritise and allocate their resources wisely.
- Organise and chair regular team meetings.
- Carry out regular appraisals with each team member, to include the setting and monitoring of objectives in line with the wider team and organisation, discussions about happiness and welfare, and overseeing their continual learning and professional development.
- Review and approve timesheets, absence requests, and expense claims.
- Monitor absence levels, arrange appropriate cover where necessary, and conduct return to work interviews.
- Support the recruitment, induction, and training of new staff and volunteers.
- Work in other areas of the service as required.
- Attend events as a positive ambassador for St Petrocs, promoting and raising awareness of its services and inspiring existing and potential supporters.
- Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested.

Due to the nature of our work, you must also have a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
