Organisational Design Lead

Role Description

Join our People and Culture Team as an Organisational Design Lead.

Working closely with the Head of Workforce Productivity and Change, you'll play a key role in evolving our approach to organisational design to drive efficiency, productivity, and alignment with our business goals.

You'll lead the application of organisational design methodologies, including strategic workforce planning, and consultancy while championing systems thinking, continuous improvement, and Agile practices. You will also play a key role in implementing Group People & Culture initiatives to build a more effective and future-ready organisation.

This is a hybrid role based in any of our UK offices, with the expectation to be on-site one day per week.

Salary Information

Pay: Circa £65,500 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

About You

In this role you will be:

  • Running strategic workforce planning exercises with Group, business leaders, and People Partnering to forecast future needs and inform resourcing, learning, and people strategies.
  • Owning the organisational streamlining approach, working with Group, People Partnering, and the business to achieve agreed targets through OD activities.
  • Evaluating and redesigning organisational structures and job design to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Developing and using workforce data analytics with BICOE and P&C CoEs to monitor productivity, identify root causes, and drive improvement.
  • Supporting business change projects and transformation programmes to realise workforce and efficiency benefits.
  • Running systems thinking exercises to optimise P&C processes, services, and ways of working, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and governance requirements.
  • Leading Agile squads to deliver process improvements, resolve service issues, and enhance efficiency.
  • Facilitating the implementation of Group P&C initiatives in AZUK by coordinating with Group and CoEs, and running Agile squads or projects to support delivery.

Essential Skills

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in organisational design, strategic workforce planning, and workforce efficiency initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with advanced Excel knowledge and experience using data and analytics tools to interpret workforce trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience leading cross-functional (matrix) teams and managing complex projects.
  • Familiarity with HR technologies and data analytics tools.
  • Experience working with Group functions in a complex organisational context.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and champion corporate values and culture.
