Accountable for the end to end delivery of reactive/revenue related operations, ensuring that the service is resourced appropriately to meet the contractual requirements. Responsible for all aspects of delivery of reactive, revenue related task orders in line with budget expectations, required quality standards to clients timescales. Responsible for building effective relationships with the client team and supply chain whilst ensuring that budgets, resources and strategies are in place to ensure long profitability and expansion of the contract.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing technical expertise and support the team, creating value added solutions. Ensure compliance with all statutory and company procedures, health and safety specifically.
  • Ensuring that the service if effectively resourced at all times to meet workload demand.
  • Ensure efficient management and use of resource, employees, fleet, plant, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Provide information to the client, operational/Business Managers as required.
  • Review performance programme and working towards long term solutions for repetitive problems.
  • Contribute of setting of budgets and forecasting to ensure consistent, challenging but deliverable approach adopted.
  • Manage the framework operational performance to meet financial targets providing proactive contribution into the month end process.
  • Understand and meet client requirements, utilising feedback to enhance service delivery.
  • Maintain a framework for performance management, succession planning and the development of people with the team.
  • Coach and mentor key operational team members.
  • Create a culture within the operational team based on compliance, pride and ownership.

Who we're looking for

  • Appropriate Civils and Highways experience coupled with technical qualification.
  • Highly motivated to deliver customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate strong operational leadership skills that will inspire the team to succeed.
  • Experience in the efficient and effective management of resources.
  • Commercial Awareness - understand cost of doing business.
  • Understanding programme and planning principals.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, providing clear directions to the operational team.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
