Operations Manager - Quadralene, Derby

We are looking for an outstanding Operations Manager to deliver strategic leadership and operational management for Getinge's UK Centre of Excellence for Chemistry.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a difference by overseeing the daily activities of the Manufacturing, Warehousing, Procurement and Business Systems functions. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Operations Manager will work as a key member of the Quadralene Senior Management team to support business growth in line with budget expectation, collaborating and engaging with customers, staff and the wider business to maintain, deliver and improve production output.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and report on KPI's for Operations, Procurement and Warehouse activities to allow targeted improvements within areas of responsibility allowing Quadralene to meet its strategic objectives.
  • Oversee the Production planning process to ensure optimal operations performance, service to customer and cost effective manufacturing.
  • Ensure that new products are efficiently implemented in line with R&D Roadmap and commercial requirements.
  • Provide strategic direction and management for all warehouse activities to ensure service delivered meets required standards.
  • Collaborate with the Health & Safety Manager to ensure Operations facility remains a safe working environment. Implement new initiatives, procedures and processes to improve health & safety on site and maintain positive H&S culture.
  • Collaborate with the Quality team to ensure products manufactured are in line with agreed standards.
  • Develop new business systems to support business growth and meet changing commercial and regulatory demands.
  • Partner with Procurement Manager in developing supply agreements with key supplier partners to support supply chain needs and drive cost saving initiatives.
  • Own the budgeting processes for maintenance and improvement of the UK Operation including Capex and Opex expenditure and budgeting.
  • Collaborate with Group Sales and operations planning team to receive internal forecasts to drive procurement and manufacturing processes.
  • Oversee recruitment (permanent and temporary) process to ensure correct staffing and skills levels are maintained to meet business requirements.
  • Drive personnel improvements for direct reports using group PDP process. Provide effective leadership, particularly in times of change by effective planning, goal setting, delegation and coaching
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities as needed in accordance with the organisation's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

  • Background in liquid chemical manufacturing desirable
  • Background in Medical Device manufacturing essential
  • Background in Senior Leadership and Team Management essential
  • Skill in interpersonal communications, leadership, delegation, collaboration, critical-thinking, and problem solving
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to troubleshoot performance and lead process improvement.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with managers and senior members across the organisation and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the industry, market trends, and competitive landscape
  • Experience in using CRM (e.g., Salesforce) and sales analytics tools
  • Essential-Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven mindset
  • Essential -Strong team working and people management skills
  • Desirable -SAP knowledge
  • Desirable-Knowledge and experience working in a matrix organization
