About the role
This is a unique opportunity to support disabled people to find a WAV to drive or travel in as a passenger and provide funding for the solution through one of Motability's grant programmes. You will be managing a team of driving assessors based across the UK who undertake face-to-face driving assessments for potential grant recipients to understand their individual needs and find solutions that mean we are spending our charitable funds wisely and for the greatest impact. You will be working closely with WAV convertors, adaptation specialists and internal teams to deliver the highest levels of service.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have previous experience in the world of WAVs, adaptations or driving assessments. You will be a strong leader with the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders. You will be self-motivated to do an excellent job every day, continuously seek improvements and have the confidence to deal with any challenges faced. As part of the role, you will be expected to visit your team and grant applicants across the UK.
Motability
At Motability we fund, support, research and innovate so that all disabled people can make the journeys they choose. We oversee the Motability Scheme and provide grants to help people use it, providing access to transport to hundreds of thousands of people a year. We award grants to other charities and organisations who provide different types of transport, or work towards making transport accessible. We also carry out ongoing research, in partnership with disabled people and key stakeholders in the industry, to inspire innovations that continue to champion accessible transport for all.
