We are a journey of continuous growth - now looking for our next star - a passionate Operations Manager. This position reports to a General Manager and will work in Selsey, West Sussex, UK.
Selsey:
Dometic Marine's facility in Selsey, UK manufactures bespoke blinds, shades and soft furnishings for the world's leading motorboat and yacht builders.
As an Operations Manager of the Selsey team, you will be responsible for on-time delivery, quality and continuous improvement for the manufacturing of products, whilst maintaining and improving methods for maximising efficiency and output. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will contribute to the future direction of the Company and work to the goals of Dometic Group. General Responsibilities
- Day to day management of the operations team.
- Manufacturing to order to order within agreed lead times. Responsible for holding minimal finished goods inventory except for manufacturing smoothing and specific customer stocks. Structure labour available hours in line with sales demand and agreement with Production Manager and planning team.
- Quality - work with Quality Lead, Production and Technical Departments in the pursuit of zero-defect quality standards within ISO framework. Raise quality issues and direct corrective action plans.
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement using lean tools where necessary to deliver improvements.
- Delivering goods on time and directing planners to meet customer requested ship dates. Optimising manufacturing efficiency within the schedule.
- Working closely with the Supply Chain team to meet the objectives of reducing cost and inventory levels and maintaining and improving supplier quality.
- Organising the efficient manning of the current seven production areas - Metal shop, Fabric Cutting, Logistics, Screens/Shades, Venetian Blinds, Skysol blinds and Soft Furnishings.
- Ensuring appropriate recruitment and training in line with budget and skills requirements, in particular for the senior production team members.
- Creating a multi-skilled, flexible workforce. Upskilling where appropriate.
- Authorising the recruitment of new staff, holidays and managing sickness absence. Maintaining discipline under Discipline & Grievance Procedures in liaison with Human Resources.
- Carrying out regular performance reviews with the management and supervisors to ensure the Company's objectives are met in performance, quality, health & safety, housekeeping and company rules.
- Ensuring production improvements are created, assessed and implemented by productions engineering and production personnel.
- Formulating and delivering approved budgets.
- Managing, populating and developing the ERM management systems. Contributing to the decision making of a replacement system if necessary.
- Recommending appropriate yearly capital expenditure program and implement following approval.
- Devise performance indicators by creating and maintaining KPI dashboard. Achieving targets set by the General Manager. Undertaking regular reviews to ascertain status of any late orders, material shortage.
- Health & Safety - ensure policies and procedures are adhered to and promote safe working practices at all times.
- Management Reporting - provide timely and accurate management reporting information as required. Maintaining and updating company KPI Dashboard.
- Ensuring company products are tested in the correct environment and usage. Establishing and maintaining test criteria.
- Other additional duties required by the role.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate for this role will bring demonstrated success in (operational/engineering/manufacturing/etc.) environment. Additionally, they will have acquired the following qualifications and experiences:
- +5 years manufacturing management experience in complex, manufacturing environment
- Proven track record as experienced Operations Manager with excellent people management and communication skills
- practical knowledge and application of World Class Manufacturing principles
- Excellent written and verbal English
