Job Title: Operations Leader – SQEP

Location: Barrow-In-Furness (On-Site)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Being accountable for developing and leading the current and future workforce capability
  • Acting effectively as a central point of contact for SQEP and training within the Test & Commissioning function
  • Supporting, leading and developing our future apprentices and graduates through structured placement plans and attendance of recruitment events
  • Providing support and guidance to develop the workforce within your discipline
  • Governance of the Nuclear Baseline for Test & Commissioning, working with wider stakeholders
  • Leading, developing and motivating staff through good communication and honest open management techniques while keeping in line with the company values, behaviours policies and procedures
  • Ensure competencies are relevant on role profiles for assessment
  • Interpret SQEP assessment outputs to identify skills gaps and set out future training plans
  • Ensure training for discipline is in ace and relevant for the different phases of build

Your skills and experiences:

  • Broad knowledge of Submarines and understanding of the Test & Commissioning department is beneficial
  • Strong leadership management to support the discipline manager in all aspects
  • Leadership or management experience within a similar environment
  • Understanding of operations process and delivery
  • Previous Capability experience desirable

The Test & Commissioning Team:

The Test & Commissioning Capability Team is a team of 5, supporting the wider function to ensure we have the correct people in the correct facilities, with the right skills at the right time. The Function supports all programmes for all Test & Commissioning Activities looking at future capability methods, effective utilisation and governs the programmes. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
