Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring robust processes are in place to schedule patients and utilise capacity and clinics fully meeting set Key Performance Indicators and taking appropriate and timely remedial action where necessary.
- Accountable for agreed performance metrics ensuring robust monitoring and management structures are in place to ensure transparency and accountability for teams to delivery of team scheduling targets.
- Implement and review robust arrangements within relevant specialties to effectively deal with emergencies, in line with Trust policy, including emergency admissions, major emergencies and mechanical failures.
- Lead on project work when required as directed by the OCIT Lead / DGDO.
- Responsible of ensuring national and local reporting is adhered to.
STRATEGIC AND SERVICE DEVELOPMENT
- To take an active role, in collaboration with the Group Management team, to deliver robust business plans for services.
- Proactively engage in interagency working to develop and implement strategies that cross traditional organisational boundaries, encouraging a seamless health system from a patient perspective.
- Actively work with relevant services to support the development and improvement of patient care through identifying and responding to opportunities for change that will lead to improvements in quality or efficiency.
- To actively review activity against the Operational Delivery Plan for relevant services and create capacity plans to support delivery.
- To support, in conjunction with the OCIT Lead, the implementation and delivery of any approved business cases.
- To lead on the completion of regular Demand and Capacity modelling, keeping thr model up to date with changes in demand and service capacity.
ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
- In conjunction with the OCIT Lead and Group Management Team maintain an open, proactive and collaborative culture within relevant services supported by effective two-way communication systems and processes.
- Responsible for ensuring that robust systems are established for the appraisal and continual development of all UEC staff within relevant services, in line with the Knowledge and Skills Framework, promoting the effective use of skills and flexibility through professional and personal development.
- Work with the Workforce Business Partner to effectively manage any sensitive organisational change and employee relations issues.
RISK MANAGEMENT
- Support the development, implementation, and review of robust systems to manage risks Linking with the OCIT Lead and Group Management teams as appropriate.
- Manage the implementation within relevant services of the Trust's health and safety policy and all other policies, procedures, and safety rules
