Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Ensure forward planning and appropriate management of temporary staffing requirements both financially and safely and supporting rota coordinators in safe and accurate management of rotas.
• Identifying where there needs to be changes to rotas and working with medical workforce team to re-design.
• Ensure that there is a proactive approach to rotas ensuring necessary cover arrangements are in place and to challenge where necessary, providing advice to resolve issues as appropriate in conjunction with senior medical management.
• Work alongside the E-Rostering Team on the implementation of medics rosters across all directorates within the trust to allow for transparent and accurate rostering and absence reporting
• Implement new working practises to improve rota management and keep regularly reviewing so practise is sustainable.
• Undertake the lead role in monitoring exception reports for doctors supporting the guardian of safe working hours to resolve.
• Identify and raise any problematic areas to relevant persons for consideration.
• Responsible for the ongoing assessment and monitoring of working practices/ rotas to ensure they are compliant with local and national guidelines and agreed terms and conditions. Working with medical workforce team to ensure they are compliant.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level and Masters level or equivalent knowledge acquired by experience
- CIPD qualified or equivalent
- Evidence of continuing professional development including regular attendance on internal and external study programmes

- Project Management Qualification
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
Essential criteria
- Previous public sector experience within a Unionised environment. • Substantial experience of operational at a senior level. • Significant experience of work demonstrating a proven track record of strategic planning and horizon scanning. Production of complex reports and experience of formatting within Excel Experience of working to support senior individuals Experience and proven ability to work with minimal supervision Experience of working to deadlines Experience of accurate data entry Experience of developing and writing new policy and process • Experience of using and developing HR and workforce information systems to enhance e-functionality. • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Powerpoint and Excel, good keyboard skills • Demonstrable experience financial management systems and knowledge of budget and establishment management controls • Demonstrable experience of the development and provision of training and development programmes. • Substantial evidence of strategic project management experience, and ability to work autonomously in leading, implementing and managing areas of work and service redesign projects to tight deadlines from initiation to completion. • Up-to-date knowledge of current and changing trends and employment law and how it affects practice.
