Onsite Desktop Engineer

About the role you're considering

The role will have Second Line responsibility for pre-empting investigating and resolving Incidents.

The role will be onsite five days a week onsite in Middlesex.

If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre-employment checks, including identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history going back 3 continuous years, and unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service)

Your Role

  • Prepare and build Laptops & Desktops /Asset tagging of phones.
  • Managing mailbox and Incident & Request Queue.
  • Experience of using a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Active Directory (AD), for accurate IT hardware management.
  • Strong knowledge of managing mobile phones, including the configuration, and wiping of iPhones and Android devices.
  • Familiarity of using System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) & Intune, including raising change requests/ Responsibility for resolving Incidents/Requests to SLA.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with end-users and technical teams at all levels/Ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Your skills and experience

  • Microsoft Windows O/S (Windows 10/11) - working knowledge.
  • Desktop hardware architecture – predominately desktop and laptops.
  • SCCM/Intune experience.
  • Active Directory - basic administration.
  • Networks experience to include an understanding of LAN/WAN/vLAN and Wi-Fi technologies/Working knowledge and understanding.

Your Security Clearance

Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)

To be successfully appointed to this role you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks. There are no nationality or residency restrictions, although if you have resided outside of the UK within the last 3 years, further checks may be required. There are other criteria and check required for BPSS, and throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.
