A Snapshot of your day
The O&M Production Manager shall be responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of both the O&M services and Scheduled or Unplanned Maintenance. This shall include the responsibility for the Safe System of Work ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of all personnel and ownership of the asset management system to support the provision of a safe, compliant, high standard, client focused service.
The role shall require a degree of flexibility, covering remote control room and project site activities and locations as determined by the business needs.
What are my responsibilities?
- Overall responsibility and accountability for the promotion of Siemens Energy Zero Harm Culture, being a strong advocate and leading by example to deliver a robust EQS culture. Drives continuous improvement and a positive EHS culture across the OCGT projects.
- Recruitment process of the O&M organisation during the mobilisation phase ensuring readiness for the Power Plants PCODs aligned with the project milestone plan.
- Development and implementation of the O&M team training programme across the project lifecycle ensuring readiness and alignment with the project mobilisation milestone plan and that the power plants are adequately staffed with Suitably Qualified and Experienced Persons.
- Responsibility for the development, implementation and integration of the Asset Management System and develop long term strategic planning of all major operation and maintenance activities in line with customer, O&M and LTSA requirements.
- Establish and maintain international management systems according to ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 55001: 2014 Asset Management.
- Ownership of operations and maintenance decision making processes to ensure that an acceptable level of performance and reliability is maintained within contractual targets and KPIs throughout the project life cycle.
- Leverage new and existing digital technologies, to transform the use of data collection, analytics, and communication, in driving operational and maintenance decisions and improving plant performance.
- Ensure high plant availability via effective management and monitoring of the Siemens Energy Asset Care Programme.
- Ensuring that the power plants are operated, maintained, and tested in line with OEM recommendations, sound engineering practice and in compliance with all Statues and Laws applicable in the UK.
- Overall responsibility for ensuring effective planning and execution of the Outage Management process.
- Owner of the project financial performance, developing and analysing the cost structure, agreeing budgets, and controlling forecasting and actual costs, in addition to identifying areas for result improvement focusing on whole life costs.
- Supports, establishes, and implements, where necessary protocols for change and claim management. Involved in negotiation and settlement of claims in line with the project's best interests.
- Ensure the continued development and implementation of structured asset management processes to maximise value and achieve the client and Siemens Energy O&M business objectives, supporting the development of team awareness and engagement.
- Signatory authority for authorisation of safety critical roles (Control Person, Senior Authorised, Authorised and Competent Person).
- Site liaison with the technical departments within the SE organisation and provide all required reports and information to SE GS UK&I and EU Hub organisations.
- Owner of Emergency Planning Process and associated procedures.
Key Relationships:
- O&M Programme Manager (Line Manager)
- Client - Sound knowledge of the O&M and LTSA contract, principles, and processes for achieving the client's business strategies and objectives. This includes client needs assessment and continuous evaluation of client satisfaction.
- Onshore and Offshore Management Team - Maintain effective relationships to ensure the integrity of the Siemens Energy O&M and LTSA contracts and business strategies and objectives.
- Project O&M team - Motivate and encourage team members, provide guidance, and promote staff development, development of a highly capable O&M team.
- Supporting Contract Companies and Partners - Develop and maintain essential relationships to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient site support in specialist areas.
What I need to be successful in this role
- Minimum of 10 years operation and maintenance experience in a leadership role within the Power Generation section
- Sound practical engineering and technical knowledge including applying principles, techniques, processes, and procedures to achieve the safe operation and maintenance of the station.
- Excellent risk based cost-effective decision-making skills.
- Practicable project and customer relationship management experience.
- Familiar with Siemens Energy internal processes and understanding NCM structures and principles.
- Excellent Leadership and Management skills - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modelling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Experience of recording and the reporting of accurate data and business critical information.
- Strong Negotiation and Influencing Skills
Your Profile
- Preferably educated to degree level or equivalent standard, ideally with an engineering background.
- Leadership and Management Qualification.
- PM@Siemens Certified or working towards IPMA Certification
- Health and Safety Qualification (NEBOSH or equivalent).
