As a team we believe:

Being a QA engineer is more than just testing, we are champions of quality and we are passionate about embedding it throughout the lifecycle to prevent defects rather than find them, and to build systems we are proud of rather than break them.

  • Driving the refinement sessions by covering appropriate details like acceptance tests, implementation details, risks, release & monitoring details etc in the tickets
  • Helping the team understand and estimate any test efforts, test dependencies during planning and refinement sessions
  • Reviewing requirements to understand gaps, the potential user impact, risk and dependencies on other internal/external services in Rightmove
  • Reviewing the designs and helping the team deliver features that are accessible and inclusive to everyone
  • Pairing with engineers during development and code review to ensure appropriate test coverage at different levels and to avoid any duplication of efforts
  • Ensuring our automation test framework and coverage is targeted, relevant, efficient and resilient
  • Working with the team to determine the root cause of issues, for example, using logs, elastic search and database
  • Owning and effectively managing QA ceremonies within the team such as bug backlog and triage process
  • Communicating and collaborating with wider Rightmove team's and stakeholders on various topics

  • Experience working in an agile environment with continuous release mechanisms.
  • Experience working within a complex microservice architecture
  • Exposure to running and debugging automated test suites within frameworks using Nightwatch or Cypress
  • Experienced in using API testing tools such as Postman, RESTassured
  • Understanding of web accessibility principles
  • Experience with Elastic Search, Kafka, Oracle DB and similar data stores.
  • Ability to lead and influence within your domain of expertise
  • Ability to support and coach colleagues
