Job title: Occupational Hygiene Technician
Location: Govan
Salary: Up to £49,000 (dependant on skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide competent and comprehensive Occupational Hygiene advice and support to Line Leaders within a business area or site(s), enabling them to effectively manage SHE within their area(s) of responsibility
- Support governance activities associated with occupational hygiene, including (but not limited to) developing and maintaining related SHE Policy and Management Systems, Objectives and Targets, Assurance, Reporting, Training and Functional Capability Management
- Support activities associated with improving occupational hygiene practice and performance within a business area or site(s)
- Support the development and implementation of health risk assessment and associated occupational hygiene programme, ensuring consistency and effective improvement in COSHH/health risk management and embedding continuous improvement and the sharing of best practices with appropriate timescales and budget
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, influencing them to appropriately consider occupational hygiene factors during decision making
- Provide assurance for determining compliance with relevant legal, BAE Systems Operational Framework and SHE Management System requirements within a business or site(s)
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Hold NEBOSH General certificate in Occupational Health and safety or level 3 NVQ in Occupational Safety and Health Practices
- Experience in supplying COSHH knowledge and processes in work-related situations
- Willing to or is working towards, British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) Certificate in Operational Competence (Occupational Hygiene)
Desirable:
- Membership of a recognised professional institution for the specialist area
