Job overview
This exciting job opportunity is designed for someone who has significant experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and wants to further develop their experience in a busy Obstetric & Gynaecology department, with a patient population with high acuity presentations. The job will involve managing acutely unwell patients presented in ED, Antenatal Assessment Unit and Labour Ward. There is a great opportunity to help develop the ongoing teaching programme within the department, as well as involvement in quality improvement projects.
Main duties of the job
TRUST GRADE REGISTRAR (ST3+) IN OBSTETRICS & GYNAECOLOGY
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology are looking to recruit two Trust Grade Registrar (ST3+ level) within Obstetrics & Gynaecology to commence as soon as possible. Applicants will have at least 3 years' experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and have MRCOG part 1 or equivalent. The posts will be for one year initially with the possibility of extension for the appropriate appointee.
Croydon University Hospital is large DGH serving a diverse population and the successful candidate will gain a wealth of NHS experience in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Candidates will also be able to pursue specific skills depending on their level of competence and experience.
There are 19 full-time Consultants and other specialist colleagues working less than full time. The middle and junior grade is staffed by a variety of doctors including Associate Specialist, Specialist Registrars/StR3+, General Practice Vocational Scheme (GPVTS) trainees and foundation doctors.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The unit offers a two tier system for junior doctors. The successful applicant will work on the middle grade rota. The job includes nights and weekends on call. There is a regular weekend on-call and approximately three nights monthly.
