Purpose of the role:

As the NPI Programme Manager for Ceres, you will play a pivotal role in spearheading the successful introduction of new products, focusing on innovative, first of a kind technology and global market penetration. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the seamless project execution to time cost and quality through the application of best-practice Project Management principles.

Your leadership in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process will be instrumental in maintaining Ceres' position as an industry innovator and leader in the dynamic landscape of advanced technology deployment.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and articulate the overall strategy for the NPI program, aligning it with organizational goals and objectives
  • Accountable for planning and executing an assigned programme in alignment with business and technology strategy
  • Identify and manage internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a good understanding of their influence and interests; ensuring that confidentiality requirements are always maintained
  • Prepare, issue, and obtain approval of the Project Charters in accordance with the Ceres Project Delivery Process; ensure that the Charters are maintained throughout the project life cycle including the effects of changes in scope, timing, and cost
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards throughout the NPI process
  • Identify and secure the internal and external materials, goods, equipment, and facilities required throughout each project, ensuring that procurement schedules are maintained accordingly
  • In close cooperation with functional leaders, identify and secure the resources required to deliver each project successfully within the constraints of budget, time, and capacity
  • Manage internal and external costs through consistent planning and tracking; maintaining accurate variance to plan, forecast and cost to complete information; prepare programme summaries as required
  • Proactively manage the programme and project risks, recording their identification, quantification and mitigation in the risk register and monitoring them; accordingly, know when to escalate risks to senior management
  • Maintain control of contractual requirements and deliverables, engaging with Commercial colleagues where required
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to achieve productivity and / or efficiency objectives
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities, empowering and inspiring the team to achieve success in new product introduction projects

Knowledge and skills required for the role:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Several years proven experience as an NPI Program Manager, demonstrating successful coordination of complex programmes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good understanding of project management techniques underpinned by technical background
  • Proven track record in driving innovation and bringing new products to market successfully
  • Experience of project managing or working within technically complex engineering projects from R&D through to start of production/product launch
  • Good experience of customer and supplier relationship management
  • Ability to adapt rapidly to changing priorities and situations, working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in the following would also be advantageous:
    • Microsoft Project Online
    • APM and / or PRINCE2
    • Agile project management techniques (i.e., Sprint/Scrum)
    • Process development and continuous improvement
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
