An opportunity has arisen for a supervisor to join the Notice Processing Unit within the Environment and Transport Department. We are looking for someone to support the Team Manager to develop and deliver effective and efficient administration services relating to Civil Parking Enforcement including the processing of legislative notices and overseeing residents parking permits.

About the Role

You will be office based at County Hall and will be responsible for the supervision of a small team of Parking Administrators and the running of overall services relating to Civil Parking Enforcement & associated legislation. In addition, you will be responsible for managing the camera enforcement vehicle service provided to countywide schools and other locations.

You will deal with queries, complaints, and Freedom of Information requests from customers both internal and external and will be responsible for dealing with Highway Management System enquires on behalf of the team.

You will respond to queries from members of the public, elected members and other interested parties in a constructive and professional manner both in writing and verbally.

You will be liaising with schools, businesses, police, elected members and other interested parties to ensure good working relationships and to facilitate harmonised cross party working to the wider community.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

  • Have a management qualification (ILM3) and significant previous experience in managing or supervising staff including performance management.
  • Have excellent communication skills including the ability to negotiate, shape and influence to achieve successful outcomes and ICT skills, including knowledge and understanding of Microsoft office programmes and databases
  • Be able to adapt to varying workloads and priorities, working to tight timescales and to agreed targets
  • Have experience of dealing with irate or distressed customers and be able to respond confidently and skilfully with understanding and diplomacy
  • The ability to plan, organise and prioritise work within tight timescales
  • Have experience of working in partnership with other areas of an organisation and external stakeholders
  • Be able to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate written and spoken English; this is essential for the post.
