Main duties of the job
To act as the Local Manager & operational lead for the Newborn Hearing Screening programme, taking responsibility for the delivery of & the day-to-day management of all aspects of the programmed programme
To line manage the Newborn Hearing Screening team
To liaise with the national NHSP programme
To develop a systematic working practice to allow the team to determine priorities & ensure protocols are adhered to & deadlines are met
To perform regular data quality checks, including searches on the hearing screening database to ensure that all babies are seen in a timely manner
To manage & check hearing screen outpatient clinics & adjust location & templates as necessary
To participate in Hearing Screening research in co-operation with the audiology department & medical staff
To report & record all incidents as laid down in Women & Children's, Trust & programme operational policies
To manage all aspects of screening equipment & software ensuring protocols are followed & QA checks are performed,
To lead the hearing screening team & line manage their activitivity
To ensure effective use of all staff & resources developing flexible working patterns to meet the needs of the service
To prepare & manage staff rotas via e-rostering
To monitor & record annual leave & sickness of staff
To participate in the recruitment & selection of staff
To organise & actively participate in the induction programme of new staff

- Experience of working at managerial or supervisory level

- Registered Sick Children's Nurse/Midwife or Audiologist
- Minimum 4 years' experience in Newborn Hearing Screening & hold Diploma in Health Care
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of ongoing study & personal/professional development
- Ability to perform hearing screen
