Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Neurosurgery, Trauma Directorate. We are seeking a dynamic, proactive and highly motivated individual to join the management team, based on a 12-month fixed term contract.

Duties include but are not limited to: line management of admin staff and their performance, the monitoring and reporting of activity, participation and providing information at directorate management meetings.

The post will provide a great opportunity for individuals looking to develop their career in NHS management, allowing the post holder to share and standardise best practice and to improve patient pathways and overall patient experience.

The successful candidate will be highly efficient and organised with an ability to prioritise and problem solve in a busy NHS working environment.

Main duties of the job

  • To oversee and support the administration of the St Marys Neurosurgery Department .
  • The role will support the Multidisciplinary team and be responsible for efficiently managing the 18wk RTT timeline for Neurosurgery patients.
  • The role also requires managing a small team, monitoring processes and performance within the service. This includes the day to day planning prioritization of the work associated with their team and organise all activities in order to achieve a cost effective, productive, high quality service.

EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of administration procedures and computerised software
  • Operational experience in a managerial role.
  • Staff management including objective setting and appraisal, performance review & people development.
  • Track record of influencing and engaging staff.
