Networks Assurance Manager

An exciting and newly created opportunity has become available for a Networks Assurance Manager. Reporting directly to the Head of Delivery Assurance, you will ensure that the Capital Programme of Networks projects being undertaken by our delivery partner are carried out as effectively as possible to meet the company's objectives with respect to outputs, timescales and cost.

You will work collaboratively with our delivery partner to demonstrate that due process is being followed in implementing the schemes through optioneering, design, construction and commissioning until eventual handover, ensuring the successful achievement of our outcomes.
What you'll do

As an overall function, Delivery Assurance will focus on the medium to long-term strategies of Wessex Water and our delivery partner, while ensuring that day-to-day high standards are maintained.

You will engage with the various stakeholders to ensure that our business needs are fully identified and clearly communicated. This will involve working closely alongside the Commercial Management and Asset Planning team.

Responsible for providing delivery assurance for a capital programme of works with an annual turnover of £100 million plus, you will be instrumental in:

  • ensuring the successful delivery of our Capital Programme of Networks projects
  • ensuring that Corporate Governance processes and procedures are followed, and that programme and budgetary constraints and controls are adhered to
  • liaising with company stakeholders who contribute to or have a vested interest in the development of solutions and the delivery of the outputs
  • holding the delivery partner accountable for carrying out their work in a way that is fully aligned with our best interests
  • monitoring and reviewing the delivery partner's performance; agreeing mitigation measures and variations
  • ensuring the effective management of risk at a project and programme level
  • promoting a collaborative 'ethos' amongst our stakeholders, the Delivery Assurance team and the delivery partnership
  • actively pursuing and implementing a 'lessons learned' approach in a no-blame manner, communicating outcomes and improvements as appropriate.

What you'll need

In this role, you will have extensive experience working in the water sector and will have previously managed a programme of network projects (water supply and wastewater), through the design, construction and commission stages to handover.

You will have experience of working in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, with commercial awareness and relevant contractual experience.

You will ideally be degree-qualified in an engineering field related to waste supply and wastewater networks and have experience in project or programme management.
