The Sustainability team sits within Corporate Affairs at Nokia. The Sustainability team is responsible for Nokia's corporate sustainability strategy, framework, governance and acts as a source of expertise and inspiration for Nokia to achieve its stated strategic goal to develop ESG (environmental, Social and Governance) into a competitive advantage. It is also responsible for sustainability governance, ESG KPI and target setting management, corporate-level non-financial sustainability reporting as well as external partnerships and industry collaborations related to corporate responsibility.

As sustainability continues to grow in significance amongst our stakeholders, customers, partners, business groups, the investment community and current and future employees, we need an experienced sustainability change agent to manage and drive Nokia's net zero ambitions internally, and with external stakeholders. Engaging and influencing stakeholders on climate transition and the needed actions, as well as on other key environmental, social and governance topics, is the remit of this team.

Responsibilities

What you will learn and contribute to

The net zero enablement manager, with the support of colleagues within the Sustainability team and across the broader organization, will be responsible for ensuring Nokia's newly announced net zero ambitions and related required activities and actions are well understood, communicated and moving forward within the organization and with external stakeholders. The role includes acting as an ambassador for our net zero work while also on a practical level ensuring complex topics have clear and succinct messaging and are well communicated. The successful candidate will need to engage and build two-way trusted relationships with the key experts and opinion makers inside and outside the organization.

In addition, the role requires good knowledge of target audiences and the ability to create and communicate impactful messaging. The scope of the role also includes the requirement with time to become a spokesperson for the company on our net zero program, status and achievements.

The position reports to the Head of sustainability engagement and enablement in Nokia Corporate Affairs.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

• Be the ambassador of Nokia's net zero journey to external stakeholders.

• Drive Nokia's climate action engagement with customers and external stakeholders as part of creating a collaborative journey to net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.

• Work closely with business groups and the Sustainability team, including environment and supply chain teams, to ensure two-way communications and engagement between Nokia and our customers on our net zero activities.

• Coordinate input on net zero and help maximize the impact of our thought leadership content.

• Utilize data to create engaging content and collaborate with internal subject matter experts to distil complex concepts into accessible and engaging content.

• Identify emerging trends and issues, positioning Nokia as a go-to source for expert analysis and commentary on net zero and climate transition.

• Work with the sustainability engagement and enablement team, and environmental subject matter experts as well as with the community of interest and customer advisory council teams to strategize and plan for stakeholder impact.

Key Experience:

• Experience in climate transition and environmental programs.

• Experience in working with customers, influencing and enabling content on strategic topics.

• Excellent written and communications skills, including in-depth understanding of target audiences, and expertise in high-impact messaging.

• Ability to process complex information and turn difficult concepts into impactful messaging.

• Ability to work effectively in a matrix and geographically diverse business model within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Practiced in developing working relationships and networks at all levels, with high impact and influence in a collaborative environment.

• Self-starter and motivated, proactive in external engagements

• Experience in public speaking is beneficial.
