We are now seeking a National Sales Manager (Wastewater) to lead and grow our UK & Ireland wastewater business.
The Opportunity
This is a senior, high-impact leadership role for an experienced wastewater sales professional with strong technical understanding. You will be responsible for national sales performance, and strategic framework engagement, , while remaining hands-on with key customers and high-value opportunities.
If your background includes screens, pumps, wastewater process equipment, capital projects, spares, and service, and you thrive in both commercial leadership and solution selling, this role offers real scope to make your mark.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Commercial Leadership
- Develop and execute a national sales strategy to achieve and exceed revenue targets
- Drive framework-based selling, including NEC 3/4 contracts and standard contract models
- Lead major bids, high-value opportunities, and strategic customer relationships
- Promote integrated wastewater solutions to technical, operational, and commercial stakeholders
- Ensure robust pipeline management from lead generation through to order and aftersales support
Customer & Market Engagement
- Build strong partnerships across municipal and industrial wastewater markets
- Prepare and deliver compelling technical and commercial presentations
- Represent Hydro International at industry events, trade shows, and targeted campaigns
- Capture and report market trends, customer feedback, and competitor insights
Business Collaboration & Governance
- Act as a key member of the senior management team, contributing to sales, marketing, and business development strategy
- Work closely with Proposals, Capital Delivery, and support functions to ensure seamless customer delivery
- Maintain accurate reporting through Microsoft CRM and ERP systems
- Uphold ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 standards
- Take responsibility for Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance across your remit
About You
Experience & Industry Knowledge
- Minimum 5 years' experience selling into the UK Water & Wastewater sector
- Strong background in solution selling of wastewater capital equipment, spares, and services
- Proven experience with framework agreements and contract-based sales
- Solid understanding of:
- UK&I wastewater market structure
- Water companies, contractors, and key stakeholders
Sales & Leadership Capability
- Demonstrated success in consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation and closing skills
- Self-driven, resilient, and comfortable working autonomously at a national level
Technical & Personal Skills
- Proficient in CRM/ERP systems
- Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all organisational levels
