National Sales Manager

Area: Hereford - Office based.

The Role of National Sales Manager

  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and mentor a national team of internal and external sales people to ensure they meet individual and team sales targets.
  • One-on-One Development: Conduct regular 1:1 meetings to provide personalized feedback, support professional development, and set actionable goals.
  • Joint Client Visits: Accompany the Key Accounts Manager on joint sales calls and client meetings to the companies 'Major' accounts, to support and enhance these key customer relationships.
  • Performance Management: Regularly review and assess team performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to drive success.
  • Training & Development: Provide ongoing training and guidance on best practices for specification sales, project management, and client engagement.
  • Working closely with marketing, product development, and other departments to align sales efforts and marketing campaigns on both products and services.
  • Pipeline Management: Ensure the team maintains a strong and consistent sales pipeline, while tracking progress and ensuring we are always closing the deals.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Track team performance using KPIs and sales metrics, providing regular reports to senior management and adjusting strategies based on data insights.
  • Sitting on the senior management team to drive whole business performance.

Requirements

The Candidate for the National Sales Manager

  • Sales people management experience is essential
  • Proven Leadership Experience: Demonstrated success in leading and managing a team of sales professionals.
  • Proven track record of delivering on goals and targets.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive team performance and achieve business objectives.
  • Relationship Building: Skilled in nurturing relationships with key decision-makers within the industry.
  • Coaching and Development: A track record of mentoring and developing sales teams to excel, with a focus on delivering growth.
