National Account Manager

Location: Bolton

Job Summary: The National Account Manager will be responsible for managing and growing key national accounts, including M&S, Ocado, and Waitrose. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in account management and a deep understanding of the retail landscape. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior National Account Manager to develop and execute sales strategies that drive business growth and enhance customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key national accounts, including M&S, Ocado and Waitrose.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders both internally and externally to develop, manage and execute joint business plans to drive both Wepa and Customer targets. This involves full P&L ownership and so you will lead all contract negotiations on pricing, terms and promotional activity for your accounts."
  • Monitor account performance and identify opportunities for growth and improvement. This will involve conducting regular business reviews with your accounts to assess performance utilising customer data platforms as well as market data platforms such as Kantar.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams, including marketing, product development, production and supply chain, to ensure all account activity is delivered on time and in and in full.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and market conditions to identify new business opportunities.
  • Prepare and present sales reports and forecasts to senior management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in national account management, preferably within the the FMCG industry.
  • Proven experience managing accounts with M&S, Ocado or Waitrose would be highly beneficial.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and make informed business decisions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven experience in managing and delivering multiple NPD projects - within private label would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Ability to travel as required.
