Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician

About the roleWe are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to work as part of a small maintenance team in handling routine maintenance activities throughout the hotel and estate.

You’ll work as part of a small maintenance team handling routine maintenance activities throughout the hotel, acting as a brand ambassador by being a warm and friendly Partner who provides a consistently outstanding customer experience that is unrivalled in the marketplace.

You’ll be working on a rota basis allowing you time to take advantage of the benefits.

  • Salary - £24,400.00 - 32,500.00

  • Contract type - This position is a Permanent contract.

  • Working pattern - 37.5 hours per week. A mix of shifts on a rota basis - Earliest start time 7:30 - Latest finish time 6pm. Alternate weekends

  • Location - This role is based at our Leckford Hotel & Estate. 

Key responsibilities

  • Proven competency in one or more of the following trades: Joinery, Carpentry, Plastering, Plumbing, Metalwork, Decorating, Drainage, Tiling, and Flooring.

  • A good knowledge of tools and equipment required for the role

  • Physical agility/ dexterity

  • Exceptional hand-eye coordination targeted at handling maintenance issues in a proactive manner

  • Experience of working with trades and/or technicians

  • Experience in fault finding and resolving issues 

Essential skills/experience you’ll need 

  • City and Guilds 236 Parts 1&2 or NVQ equivalent

  • 18th edition IEE wiring regulations certificate 

  • Full and clean driving licence with minimum 3 years experience

  • An understanding in the operation and maintenance of the following: BMS systems:

air conditioning and heating systems

domestic hot and cold water services

low voltage electrical distribution to include lighting, power

and data communication

fire protection /detection/alarm systems

water treatment and monitoring

standby generators and UPS systems

mechanical handling equipment

  • To hold relevant city and guilds qualification or can demonstrate proven competency in one or more of the following trades: Joinery, carpentry, plumbing, metalwork, drainage, Tiling, flooring or wet trades.

  • Good standard of PC usage to maintain straight forward records and communication

Desirable skills/experience you may have

  • Food Hygiene Level 1

  • City and Guilds in mechanical discipline or NVQ 6018 Heating and ventilation industrial and commercial installations

Visitors to the Abbas can stay in Spedans old bedroom or sit out and enjoy the same views he saw when he was drawing up his plans for the Partnership, setting it up to be one of the longest running British companies.
