Description

Hopwood Hall College is seeking a Microsoft Teams Project Manager for a fixed-term, 1-year position. Reporting to the Digital Learning Manager, this role involves leading the deployment of Microsoft Teams as the college's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), providing training and support, and ensuring IT compliance and data security.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plan, execute, and oversee the installation of Microsoft Teams as VLE within the College.

2. Collaborate with college IT staff and Microsoft support teams to ensure a smooth deployment.

3. To coordinate the development and delivery of training programs for staff and students to effectively use Microsoft Teams. Provide ongoing support and resources to maximise adoption and proficiency.

4. Conduct bespoke training sessions for faculty and staff on how to use Microsoft Teams effectively.

5. Manage project timelines, resources, and budget to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.

6. Address any technical challenges that arise during the installation process.

7. Be the primary liaison between technical teams, academic staff, and administrative departments to ensure clear communication and stakeholder engagement.

8. Provide regular updates to key college stakeholders on project progress.

9. Ensure compliance with college IT policies and data protection regulations.

10. Manage resistance and foster a positive attitude towards digital transformation.

11. Track and report on the usage and performance of Microsoft Teams. Gather feedback to continually improve the implementation strategy.

12. Work with the college's IT department to ensure that the deployment of Microsoft Teams complies with educational regulations and data security standards. Manage user permissions and security settings to protect sensitive information.

13. Work with the Digital Learning Manager to regularly assess the digital training needs of staff.

14. Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback forms and staff surveys.

15. Attend team meetings as and when required.

16. Any other duties, of a similar level of responsibility, as may be required.

Qualifications, Skills, and Expertise

Qualifications

Essential Criteria:Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Project Management, Education Technology, or related field.

Experience

Essential Criteria:Experience as a project manager, specifically with implementations of Microsoft Teams or similar collaboration platforms in an educational or large-scale environment.

Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 especially MS Teams

Desirable Criteria:

Experience of working with VLE's

Specialist Knowledge

Essential Criteria:Understanding of Microsoft Teams functionalities, including channels, chat, video conferencing, file sharing, and integrations with other Microsoft 365 applications.

Desirable Criteria:Experience within the broader Microsoft Teams functionalities, including Class Teams Creation and Management, Assignments and Grading, Integration with OneNote Class Notebook and Planner and To-Do Integration.

IT Skills

Essential Criteria:Excellent IT skills and the ability to use standard IT packages and College specific IT systems where appropriate

Desirable Criteria:

Knowledge and experience of using authoring tools such as Articulate 360 including Storyline and Rise or other open source authoring tools.
