Job Description

An exciting opportunity has opened for a Warehouse Stock and Planning Manager to join our team in Doncaster on the MGA Toys contract. This role will be working Days Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:00 with flexibility to work outside of those hours, due to business needs, weekend work may also be required included.

How will you contribute?

To devise, implement and maintain an inventory strategy that delivers the contract's objectives with regards to inventory levels and stock availability, on a theme of "continuous improvement"

  • Reporting to the Distribution Centre Manager.
  • Customer facing is a key part of the role, in person or via teams.
  • Effectively manage all contractual targets and KPI's within budget.
  • Drive productivity levels and operational improvements.
  • Plan and manage resources to meet operational requirements.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with the customer
  • Ensure compliance with H&S legislation.
  • Inventory management- review results, identify discrepancies and report to the site senior team and the customer, where necessary, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with the customer to ensure stock issues reach a satisfactory conclusion, within timescales.
  • Set up systems to investigate customer claims and rejections to satisfactory conclusion within timescales.
  • Develop comprehensive MIS to report results to site management team, and to enable early identification of adverse trends.
  • Plan, agree and implement enhanced procedures and working methods to improve stock accuracy.
  • Stock reconciliation discrepancies compare SAP levels to WMS and investigation of discrepancies.
  • To monitor PI schedules ensuring that all stock levels are checked on a scheduled basis
  • To deal with queries arising from PI check
  • To deal with general queries, including pick and stock errors via the PI checks
  • Monitor and manage stock takes, stock audits and stock moves.
  • Working closely with the Operations Management team, ensuring that the correct processes and use of systems are in place.
  • To manage, motivate and develop the inventory team
  • Encourage and develop direct reports to ensure the company culture is experienced at all levels.
  • Provision of accurate statistical data as and when required both internally and externally.
  • Challenging existing practices and developing innovative methods to exceed KPI's.
  • To collate warehouse performance data by function.
  • Cover Warehouse operations manager when required.
  • Plan resources to forecast both stock and skills.
  • Manage and track consumable use.

What will you bring?

  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems.
  • Future thinking, ability to identify and deliver change.
  • Proven experience of supervising / managing a team.
  • Experience customer facing on a day-to-day basis.
  • Experience of disciplinary / grievance procedures.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative, working to strict deadlines.
  • A good communicator both verbal and written.
  • Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • A flexible team-based approach
  • General awareness of health and safety.
