Leigh Academy Mascalls is seeking a visionary and energetic Head of Learning - History who can balance academic rigour with a flair for truly captivating teaching.
We are looking for a leader who understands that the best historical inquiry starts with a spark of curiosity; someone who can lead a talented team in delivering lessons that are as intellectually challenging as they are vibrant and immersive. In this role, you will oversee a popular department, ensuring that our students don't just learn dates and facts, but develop a sophisticated understanding of the world through high-energy debates, creative storytelling, and interactive exploration.
You will have the opportunity to shape a curriculum that values diverse perspectives and local heritage, making the past feel tangible and relevant to our students' lives today. The ideal candidate will be a passionate historian and an innovative mentor, committed to maintaining our high standards at GCSE and A-Level while constantly finding fresh ways to keep engagement at the heart of the classroom.
If you have the expertise to drive scholarly excellence and the creativity to make History the most talked-about subject in the academy, we would love to welcome you to our leadership team.
