Job summary
It is an exciting time to join the Medical Services Team at CPFT. We are actively seeking an enthusiastic, forward thinking Medical Workforce Manager. The successful applicant will assist the Medical Workforce Lead in ensuring the department deliver a comprehensive, consistent and reliable Medical Workforce Service to Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust and to Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust.
The ideal candidate will have a strong team work ethic, sense of accountability, accompanied by an ability to work under considerable pressure. Bringingsignificant experience within Medical Staffing / Medical Education / Human Resources. This is a hugely varied role with responsibility for the day to day management of the Medical Services Team. Supporting our Medical Workforce to deliver the best care to our patients.
The post is full time and works to a Hybrid working model, which requires working from the office a minimum of 4 days per month. There are also opportunities for flexibile working.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the Medical Workforce Lead on delivering the Medical Workforce agenda. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of an efficient and customer focussed Medical Workforce service, including Medical Education. Additionally, work to ensure the often conflicting and changing priorities are managed effectively, to support excellence in service delivery and provide a comprehensive and effective medical human resources service for the Trust, Partner organisations and stakeholders.
A significant part of the role will be focussed on medical workforce systems, with responsibility to work to continually maintain, improve and develop the systems linked to medical rostering, annual leave, study leave, job planning and appraisal and revalidation which are currently all on the Allocate Software programme.

- The post holder will provide specialist advice to senior managers and clinical leaders with formal HR policies and Procedures associated with medical and dental staff for CPFT and for partner organisations, for example Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust.
- To support the Medical Workforce Lead with leading on the Medical Workforce agenda for the Trust, partner organisations and stakeholders.
- To deputise for the Medical Workforce Lead as and when required.
- Advise the Medical Director, Deputy Medical Director, Clinical Directors, Associate Clinical Directors, General and Service Managers, medical staff and HR colleagues on the application of terms and conditions of employment for medical and dental staff, ensuring compliance with the organisations policies and employment legislation.
- Support the Medical Workforce team in ensuring they have the knowledge to provide advice and guidance on terms and conditions for medical and dental staff to managers, all medical and dental staff and HR colleagues.
- To ensure the Trust has a robust process in place to ensure the implementation of any new legislation, NHS/DHSC initiatives and changes to terms and conditions for medical and dental staff takes place.
- To provide appropriate support to the Medical Workforce team to ensure processes, Trust Policy, and legislation associated with the recruitment and appointments of new doctors ensuing compliance with the organisations policies and employment legislation.
- To provide guidance, advice and support to the Medical Workforce team in ensuring processes are in place for the smooth running of all medical rotas and on-call rotas. Ensure robust arrangements are in place to manage medical locum requirements within the Trust that fit within service requirements and associated budget.
