Detailed job description and main responsibilities
• To be responsible for and carry out the following range of tasks unsupervised:
• Set up and support the operation of ICT audio-visual equipment and systems.
• Install, setup, test and maintain AV and ICT equipment including PCs and peripherals. Including the installation of software, hardware, and upgrades.
• Have specialist knowledge of video conferencing systems, setting up running and developing the video conference system, including logging usage, maintenance and liaising with other sites we wish to conference with.
• Diagnose problems on audio visual equipment and ICT systems, and either carry out repairs or take appropriate action to resolve the problem.
• Implement audio visual equipment and ICT systems policies as directed.
• Provide training to customers/users to ensure that their events and meetings run smoothly.
• Monitor any loan equipment ensuring equipment is returned on time and checked appropriately.
• Monitor stock levels and provide maintenance and support of electronic equipment.
• Ensure that all ICT and audio-visual equipment requested by the customer/user is available as requested on the day. This may include working out of hours, early mornings, during the evenings and at weekends.
• Liaise with external contractors/suppliers for dealing with fault diagnosis and fixes. Identify and suggest ICT and AV equipment solutions.
• Have lead responsibility for the planning of all video conferencing equipment and links required with other NHS and educational establishments, locally, regionally and nationally.
• Have the ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Have an enhanced level of communication and people skills with the ability to utilise empathy and listening skills.
• Provide verbal and written reports identifying all progress in relation to project plans plus communicate any known problems or issues.
• Liaise UHCW ICT Dept support and/or development teams obtaining advice and/or providing solutions on complex technical issues.
• Discuss requirements, communicate available options, estimate time-scales and prepare cost models to meet end-user expectations and contribute to building a professional impression of the organisation.
• Obtain and analyse information from both business and clinical end-users relating to complicated or complex technical/system problems and deliver feedback to resolve issues.
• Ensure all data protection, Caldicott principles, Freedom of information, Trust policies and procedures are followed when accessing or communicating sensitive information.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
