Job Title: Mechanical Technician – Junior Supervisor

Location: RAF Lossiemouth (Onsite)

Salary: £40,087

What you’ll be doing:

• Undertaking and completing tasks on-aircraft maintenance activities on assigned Part 145/KR640 aircraft, which may include, aircraft handling tasks, MOD embodiments, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and/or functional/system test

• Analysing and diagnosing faults to components & assemblies; applying diagnostic skills & knowledge to effect repairs or modify equipment or suggest improvements to procedures.

• Ensuring that maintenance is undertaken to schedule and resolve any issues, escalate as required

• Demonstrating a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and takes direction appropriately

• Maintaining personal task competencies for working on aircraft

• Supporting tasks within the Aircraft maintenance facility which are required to maintain compliance with the MOE and Functionally Mandated procedures (e.g. oversight checks, control of tooling / test equipment etc.).

• Receiving On The Job training activities and maintaining personal Log Book for currency and recency

Your skills and experiences:

• Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering, or Military equivalent apprenticeship / qualifications

• Academic qualification for this role is a minimum of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent

• Aircraft platform training – Military Typhoon ‘Q’ Course

Typhoon support flight (North) Team

As a Mechanical Technician – Junior Supervisor working within the Typhoon support flight (North) Team, you will be an experienced and skilled technician undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities on aircraft both in a technician and supervisory capacity.

At this level you will be required to have a good understanding of the construct of the approved Technical Information set and is competent to work unaided to approved data, maintenance instructions and in accordance with the organisation’s Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE).

You will also demonstrate the ability to analyse and diagnose faults to equipment & assemblies, follow diagnostic procedures and work effectively within a team provide guidance to less experienced team members in a diverse and dynamic operational environment.
