Permanent, Full Time working 37 hours per week. Your working days will be Monday to Friday 8.00- 16.00.We are looking for the right person to join our service, to manage a fast-paced critical service, the M&E and heating team.

What will I be doing?You will take responsibility for the delivery of multiple workstreams, giving support and guidance where necessary, to ensure safe and high-quality maintenance programmes and installations are carried out to the communal and other facilities with the city council housing stock. You will have a key role to play in Bristol City Council's journey of becoming a leader within the sector for compliance and the consumer standards.

You will be managing a team of technical and non-technical staff delivering compliance and other programmes of works.

You will be required to forecast maintenance and improvements to the stock reporting these requirements to line managers to formulate future investment. You will also be required to produce regular forecasts against spend.

You will manage and be accountable for projects to ensure that all relevant Health and Safety, CDM regs responsibilities are adhered to by in house and external contractors. The successful applicant will be working alongside another M&E manager due to the expansion of the teams but support will be in place to enable you to take on and own your own teams moving forward.

What do I need to have?

You will need a vocational qualification or HNC/HND or equivalent, or extensive practical relevant experience. You will have practical experience in running M&E related contracts. You should have the drive to take the initiative to introduce innovations to keep continually improving the service we offer to our residents.

You must be able to be comfortable in uncertainty and be able to apply an analytical approach to problem solving.

Experience in contract administration and project management is essential as you will be responsible for the supervision of vital services to our customers and stakeholders including the delivery of new capital projects across the housing stock. The role will require monitoring of contracts to ensure consistent high standards and best value for money is achieved.
