Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic & motivated individual, to join the Cancer Services Department as a MDT Business Support Manager.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will assist and support the Cancer Services Manager and Cancer Data Manager in the provision of services to ensure the Trust achieves both internal and national NHS Cancer Waiting Times targets in order to ensure compliance with National Standards.

Maintain awareness of trust policies relating to cancer ensuring they are current and provide training requirements to the cancer services team and other departments as determined by the Trust.

The ideal candidate will have an exceptional work ethic, be flexible and have an appetite for learning new skills and processes. These tasks require the ability to work to deadlines & require excellent time management skills.

Person specification

Experience and Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Experience in a leadership role or equivalent in a healthcare setting
  • Experience in providing training packages to support system processes
  • Previous Experience of working in Cancer Services
  • Experience in developing business processes for recording and reporting data.

Desirable criteria

  • A good understanding of the health and social care environment and roles and responsibilities within it.
  • Speciality knowledge of health care management.

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Computer Literate with ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Managerial knowledge acquired through degree or equivalent experience

Skills, Abilities and Competencies

Essential criteria

  • To work on own initiative and manage own time to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to deal with difficult, sensitive and confidential situation
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
