About the Team

Diageo's Beer Category brews and packages 7.1mHls of beer at 3 sites across Ireland and the UK. The Scheduling & Planning team takes supply plans from Central teams to create scheduled production plans, with the objective of optimising customer service, inventory, capacity and cost. The function is responding to increasing SKUs, packaging and component complexity, and it is operating in environments that are becoming increasingly utilised from a supply perspective.Beer planning is building a world class organisation that is based on standardised processes, ways of working and employing best practice in planning approaches to support delivery of the Category and Diageo performance ambition.

Purpose of the Role

This role is a vital link between Plan, Source, Make and Move functions to enable delivery of supply and scheduled production plans that meet business and customer needs. This will be delivered via highly developed partnerships Adherence to all supply and scheduling planning processes for operations in Ireland and the UK in line with the objectives of the Beer Category

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Liaising with many key external suppliers to ensure components are in place to deliver production schedules.
  • Work with Procurement, Finance and external Suppliers to facilitate and reconcile invoices, based on our SLAs, payment terms and legal obligations.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with key internal and external partners at all levels within the organisation and leverage these relationships to deliver strategy.
  • Initiate, lead and action inventory holding plans to control stocks of materials and to avoid write off costs
  • Play a lead role in managing and enhancing the business, overseeing Global Supply Chain Projects, driving the continuous improvement agenda, and steering product innovation and renovation processes, while balancing the need for flexibility with commitments to service, cost, and quality
  • Ensure transparent cross functional communications of forward plans across our supply chain.
  • Operate a zero tolerance safety culture in all aspects of the business for themselves and others.
  • Build excellent relationships with an extensive number of internal and external contacts.
  • Demonstrate the Diageo capability to visualise what is best in class and seek to deliver this.
  • Act like an owner in terms of delivery approach to ensure that supply chain planning initiatives are customer focused and deliver/exceed our performance critical metrics.
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of the entire global supply chain and the ability to create possibilities, find solutions and plan/deliver improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
  • Demonstrate authenticity, candour and a strong engagement ethos in line with Diageo values and behaviours.
  • Build trust, be a great team player yet capable of operating independently.

Skills and Experience Required

  • BSc in Supply Chain, Business Administration or equivalent
  • APICS Qualified or equivalent
  • Several years of supply chain planning experience in an FMCG company would be advantageous.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Demand and Supply Planning, Operations, Logistics and Route to Market is desirable.
  • Stakeholder management experience with a proven track record leading in as planning function.
  • Excellent IT and numerical skills, to exploit benefits of SAP ECC6, SAP APO SNP, Business Warehouse and BEX Analyser.
