Our public sector client is seeking a Marketing & Sales Officer to take responsibility for the promotion and development of the council's commercial waste collection service, supporting business growth and ensuring high standards of delivery.
Your Duties:
- Promote and develop the commercial waste collection service to businesses and traders across the council area.
- Secure new contracts with commercial customers, follow up on enquiries, and ensure effective action is taken to meet customer needs.
- Negotiate with traders and liaise with contractor representatives to ensure waste collection systems operate as intended.
- Ensure objectives are achieved within agreed budgets.
- Produce accurate and timely information for council or committee reports, statutory returns, and performance measures.
- Keep up to date with developments relevant to the post and make recommendations to senior officers where appropriate.
- Represent the council in a professional manner, protecting its reputation and public profile.
- Motivate and manage assigned staff to ensure effective service delivery, including reviewing and implementing training and development programmes.
- Support HR processes, including induction, staff support, absence management, disciplinary and grievance procedures.
- Participate in recruitment and selection processes as required.
- Comply with council policies and procedures, including customer care, equal opportunities, health and safety, safeguarding, and other relevant legislation.
- Undertake any other duties as required, commensurate with the role, to support the evolving needs of the council.
Your Profile:
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C) including English, or equivalent qualifications.
At least 12 months' relevant experience in each of the following areas:
- Sales promotion or marketing of products and/or services.
- Dealing with and resolving customer service complaints and enquiries in a front-line role, in line with corporate procedures.
- Supervising staff within an office environment, including programming workloads and setting priorities.
Your Benefits:
- £17.17 per hour.

Additional Information:
- Full-time, Temporary.
- 37 hours per week.
