Are you ready to take the reins of our marketing strategy and make a real impact? As a Marketing Manager for Emerald Publishing Services and Emerald Cases, you'll be the driving force behind our global awareness and engagement activities. You'll connect with librarians, academics, and practitioners, boosting our brand recognition and visibility, and generating those all-important marketing qualified leads.

This is a Fixed Term Contract for 12 months.

Location: We perform at our best when we feel trusted and are able to choose an approach to working that suits us best, which is why we are a remote-first company. However, we also believe in face to face collaboration, and our UK colleagues meet once a month for team time and quarterly for company get togethers in our Leeds office, so we ask that you be within a commutable distance that you are comfortable with in order to attend the office on those occasions.

Day to day we'll trust you to:

  • Execute the marketing strategy: Drive awareness, sales, leads, and support customer retention through usage, up-sell, and cross-sell.
  • Run campaigns: From ideation to execution, you'll deploy successful marketing campaigns.
  • Experiment and innovate: Find the best channels to reach our target audiences.
  • Measure and optimize: Report on campaign performance, gain insights, and adjust strategies to hit our goals.
  • Support sales and marketing teams: Provide accurate, up-to-date product information and messaging, and guide on compelling content to drive usage and secure sales.
  • Collaborate with product teams: Understand the live product roadmap and translate it into the marketing plan to support product priorities and goals.

We are looking for:

  • Marketing skills: Brand strategy, campaign delivery, copywriting, digital marketing, social media.
  • Data savvy: Comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics, and processing figures with spreadsheets.
  • Team player: Collaboration and influencing across marketing, product, publishing, and sales teams.
  • Great listener: Assimilate information and act on it.
  • Multi-tasker: Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects.
  • Deadline-driven: Meet deadlines and maintain stable performance under pressure.
  • Excellent communicator: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience: Previous experience in research publishing or an academic research environment is a plus.
  • Qualifications: CIM or other professional marketing qualification is desirable.
  • Tech skills: Basic knowledge of HTML and design software like InDesign is an advantage.

Roles are advertised at a benchmarked market median rate. Offers will be made within a range of the median, depending on skills and experience.
