The Business has recently laid out a new strategic ambition under a new Managing Director and is in the process of evolving to a matrix operating structure that will drive focus through four lines of business: Managed Services, Software, Hardware and Broadband.

The Role

The Marketing Manager - Events and social media plays an important bridging role between the marketing team and communication team, building our brand and profile, and supporting lead generation, through events and social media activity, critical to achieving our goals.

You will be able to engage with target markets and promote the RM Technology brand identity at in house and industry events, both live and online. You must be at home with identifying and recording key metrics at events and using them to improve future events.

This role reports to the Head of Marketing with a dotted line to the Chief of Communications, and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, finance, and IT, to unlock potential across the funnel and achieve organizational goals. You must have the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders including internal experts, external agencies, customer personnel, Sector Heads and Business Development Managers.

This role requires an analytical mindset, exceptional organizational skills, and an understanding of project management, processes and required outputs.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities:

Develop and implement event and social media plans:

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop plans that support the wider sales, marketing and communication strategies.
  • Understand the needs and trends of different market segments and produce and promote events and social media communications for RM Technology's target proposition(s) at both company and industry events, live and online.
  • Develop the RM Technology webinar and live event series to generate leads and to promote the RM Technology brand.
  • Maintain and update the organisation's social media profiles and monitor and engage with the online community.
  • Communicate plans and resource needs to the Head of Marketing. Adapt if needed to ensure resources, processes and roles are effectively used in accordance with the overall marketing strategy defined by the Head of Marketing.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and logistics for events and social media. Coordinate with vendors, sponsors and partners.

Campaign Development and Execution:

  • Create and manage marketing campaigns and initiatives to drive attendance at RM Technology events and engagement at industry events.
  • Help in the development of strong relationships with key accounts that are defined as targets.
  • Effectively use inbound/outbound channels as well as online and offline marketing tailored to the specific nature of the sector and target markets.
  • Work with other specialists within the Marketing Team to ensure campaigns and messages are effectively promoted and supported through digital channels in alignment with the marketing strategy.
  • Advise and support use of events and conferences to promote and engage target customers and sectors and demonstrate customer engagement and lead generation.

Sales Enablement:

  • With the marketing team, work closely with sales teams to understand their needs and provide relevant marketing materials, content, and resources to support the sales and marketing strategy.

Performance Analysis and Reporting:

  • Track and analyse the effectiveness of activities, providing insights and recommendations for optimisation.
  • Prepare regular reports and metrics for review with key stakeholders to measure and enhance the effectiveness of activities.

Market Research and Competitor Analysis:

  • Stay current with sector trends, priorities, and market dynamics to identify new opportunities and target areas for growth within events marketing and sales.
  • Understand the competitor landscape. Review competitor activity at events as well as understanding their products, services and general marketing activities to ensure RM Technology's own offer remains a step ahead.

CRM system and account-based marketing:

  • Work with business development teams to ensure CRM systems and content are managed and maintained in line with best practice agreed across the business growth team.
  • Maintain a disciplined approach to recording and managing all customer interactions from contact through to pipeline across the target market sectors.
  • Make effective use of CRM systems to manage and measure the success of activities, tracing lead generation, qualifying opportunities and highlighting opportunities.

  • A confident self-starter who can proactively work without continuous supervision, with a proven track record scaling operations that have a measurable impact on revenue growth.
  • Data-focused by nature, you'll be analytical and will show that you've a keen focus on metrics, measurement, and optimisation in your previous roles.

You will have:

  • Proven experience in marketing, event planning, or related roles.
  • Experience of working with marketing and event management tools such as Hootsuite, Dotdigital, CRM systems.
  • Great creative thinking, strong communication, presentation, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • An eye for detail.
  • Degree level qualifications, preferably in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
