Reports to: Managing Director of Events

Role Overview:

In the events team, the Marketing Manager will collaborate with the Managing Director of Events, directly manage the Marketing Events Executive, and cross-departmental teams to achieve company goals. This role requires a methodical, commercially-minded approach to drive engagement, conversion, and retention in line with revenue targets. The Marketing Manager will develop and execute marketing strategies, analyze data-driven results, and ensure successful event participation and audience engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies with the MD of Events, utilizing various channels such as social media, email, advertising, and partnerships.
  • Target top-tier award candidates in line with business priorities.
  • Organize and maintain data sets for awards and conferences.
  • Recommend budgets for multi-channel marketing efforts.
  • Support and oversee the marketing executive's activities.
  • Write and proof email communications and website copy.
  • Ensure timely preparation of sales materials.
  • Monitor award entries and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure quality submissions.
  • Promote judges and sponsors with the events content team.
  • Establish partnerships to expand audience reach.
  • Track and report on campaign effectiveness.
  • Attend and support awards and events.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of marketing experience, ideally in Publishing, Media, or Marketing sectors.
  • Understanding of the B2B sector.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to plan long and short-term.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to create and manage event concepts.
  • Understanding of customer journeys before, during, and after events.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative thinker with analytical and numerate abilities.
  • Self-disciplined, self-motivated, and calm under pressure.
  • Confident and proactive.
