Marketing Director - Sustainability

Location: London, United Kingdom or New York NY, USA

CBRE is recruiting for a Director to join our global marketing team, working alongside the global Sustainability practice and reporting to the global Brand team. The key focus of this role is to deliver marketing activity to a consumer audience of buyers, tenants, vendors and landlords, significantly impacting sales and leases through lead generation.

The successful candidate will be dedicated to pushing the boundaries of our marketing activity, generating and executing brilliant new ideas to grow the business. The ideal candidate will be an innovative marketer, capable of:

  • coordinate with our marketing centers-of-excellence to launch thought leadership and reports
  • roll-up your sleeves and develop materials, for sales, enterprise account leadership and external campaigns
  • create client stories beyond to bring our value proposition to life through storytelling
  • develop major event scripts for our CSO and sustainability leaders

As the marketing leader for the global sustainability practice, you will be responsible for delivering a strategic marketing program aimed at client acquisition and business growth. This includes digital-first, integrated marketing campaigns that emphasize CBRE's points-of-difference in our sustainability solutions. Responsibilities encompass new business initiatives, email marketing, product and service launches, global website management, social strategy, SEM and SEO advising and collateral creation such as PowerPoint decks and service line materials.

Success in this role requires the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships and as a thoughtful partner create and deliver high quality strategic work. Experience creating innovative, integrated marketing campaigns that drive business growth is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to become a trusted partner, contributing to business strategy with excellent industry and competitor knowledge
  • Work closely with the global Brand team and segment marketing teams to understand overall marketing strategy
  • Personify excellence in account management skills, ensuring each stakeholder interaction is exemplary
  • Demonstrate excellent briefing and response skills at all times
  • Execute all tactics efficiently and with an eye for detail and continuous improvement

Marketing Strategy & Planning

  • Execute an annual marketing plan to generate new leads across investors, landlords, tenants, partners, and suppliers
  • Utilize insights, industry knowledge, and business understanding to refine recommendations based on previous activity results
  • Collaborate with the Sustainability sales team, consulting and enterprise account leaders to deliver integrated campaigns that drive business growth
  • Oversee brand and positioning communications, ensuring consistency in visual identity, key messaging, creative expression, tone of voice, imagery, and other brand elements
  • Maintain connectivity and consistency with our global marketing efforts
  • Digital
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the opportunities provided by social and digital channels, including web presence, SEO-optimized quality content, and client journeys
  • Ensure digital integration in all campaigns, identifying opportunities to replace traditional tactics with digital solutions
  • Collaborate with our Digital Marketing team to improve Google rankings and continuously optimize web listings and content pages

Campaign Management

  • Collaborate with the business to identify relevant and timely client issues or industry topics for content-led campaigns
  • Execute a commercially focused, value-adding program of integrated campaigns to enhance profile and drive revenue, in close coordination with central Marketing functions

Qualifications & Experience

  • Marketing expert with multi-channel marketing experience
  • Sustainability and/or Commercial Real Estate experience desirable
  • Proven track record of stakeholder engagement
  • Strong skills of planning and execution
  • Degree-level qualification preferred
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, Word

  • High levels of energy and enthusiasm with creativity and lateral thinking in all interactions
  • Excellent attention to detail and highly organised as this is a fast-paced role
  • Fast learner and ability to adapt to new information and deadlines quickly
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and proactively at all times

  • Confident and effective written and verbal communication across multiple stakeholders
  • Manage time effectively while managing multiple priorities and projects concurrently
